Personal, Social, Health and Citizenship Education

Subject Leader: Mrs N Forrest

Within the PSHCE/Religious Studies department our primary aims are to equip our students with the tools they need to be safe, foster a culture of respect and tolerance, become active citizens and, create positive life chances for themselves. To this end, our curriculum is varied and tailored specifically to the students we serve. As well as bespoke sessions within the school timetable we will call upon a variety of professionals throughout the year to aid in our delivery. This will ensure the information, advice and guidance we give to our students is current, of the highest quality, and is relevant to their lives now and in the future.

Due to the nature of this course, this is a non-examined subject however, students will be able to transfer the many skills and life lessons developed from this course into their personal and professional lives.

From September all primary and secondary school nationally are required to provide relationship and health education to all students.
