Head of Sixth Form: Mr R Ayres

Sixth Form study is a crucial part not only for a student’s education but also their personal and professional development. At Astrea Academy Woodfields, Sixth Form students will learn to value family, community, education and their own contribution to the whole academy, the wider world and the environment.

Students will learn to be ambassadors of the trust and the Academy, making positive contributions to the life of the school and those around them. Sixth Form students will have high expectations of themselves, a drive for excellence, and an attitude that will ensure they will always ascend.

The Sixth Form has a dedicated and specialist team of staff who challenge themselves and their students to provide the most effective teaching and learning experience. We strive to provide a wide range of opportunities for all students both within the Sixth Form curriculum and within a unique enrichment programme to support their holistic development.

As a department we feel it is fundamental that we prepare our students for life after Astrea Academy Woodfields. We encourage students to take responsibility for their own learning and support them to overcome challenges to achieve their goals and be the best they can be. Our team consistently encourages and motivates students to develop a thirst for learning and understanding, and to acquire the knowledge to lead and support others to live a positive, healthy, active lifestyle whilst at Astrea Woodfields and in their adult lives.
