Astrea Academy Woodfields students from the Sports Medicine programme graduated this month with a range of VTCT and Active IQ qualifications.
Firstly, our now second year sports medicine students received honours in the VTCT Level 3 Diploma in Massage Therapies for Sport. To receive this award, the students completed a range of therapy based assessments such as taping and strapping techniques, hot and cold treatments, fitness testing for sport and sports massage therapy.
Receiving this qualification allows the students to practice as a qualified sports massage therapist.
The students (pictured below) all received a Distinction profile which carries 48 UCAS points. These students have now carried on their studies at Astrea Academy Woodfields undertaking the Active IQ Level 4 Certificate in Sports Massage Therapy.
Secondly, the same group of Sports Medicine students recently became certified fitness instructors. Each student below has gained the Active IQ Level 2 Certificate in Fitness Instructing – Gym-Based Exercise.
This qualification now allows the students to pursue a career in the sport and active leisure industry as a fitness instructor – teaching gym-based exercise. All students pictured below have continued their studies at Astrea Academy Woodfields by undertaking the Active IQ Level 3 Diploma in Exercise Referral.
A massive well done to all students.
