#HELLOYELLOW WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY

Letter to Parents Carers re #HellowYellow

Dear parent / carer,

#HELLOYELLOW WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY

On Friday 9th October, the day before World Mental Health Day, Astrea Academy Woodfields will be raising funds to support the work of mental health charity YoungMinds by encouraging our staff and students to join in with the #HelloYellow initiative.  Students will be encouraged to join in with the “Let’s Brighten up a School Day” fundraiser by making a voluntary donation of £1 having worn an appropriate yellow *accessory, yellow footwear, or a single item of yellow **clothing in place of their regular academy uniform.

In the lead up to Friday 9th October, students will also be encouraged to take part in the #HelloYellow Challenge which highlights and reinforces positive attitudes and behaviours towards mental health. “Lockdown is having a devastating effect on children and young people’s mental health. It’s been unbelievably hard, but together, we can make a difference and show young people they are not alone”.
